Wow.. Fanime was a whirlwind of excitement and fun. I sold a few prints and did a couple of free commissions to help raise awareness of BAAU (a Bay Area art group). While I did make many mistakes, I managed to pump out 5 commissions starting from Saturday afternoon which is about 10x my normal drawing speed. Hopefully I didn't butcher the characters too badly and I am definitely going to redo 2 of them that had descriptions I really liked and felt I should do a better job on. I have a much bigger appreciation for OC (Original Characters) as they give the artist a bit more leeway than fanart, but also tend to have much more interesting backstories and ambitions that are great to draw upon.
I do have a small list of commissions to still finish after Fanime and I've just finished inking the first one (gonna attempt to try copics again, but not on the original for fear of slaughtering it completely). Hopefully I'll be caught up again and finishing off everything I promised people before summer's end so I can start on a bigger project..
